Well, we're having a Snow Day here in Newfoundland today, so I thought since I have plenty of time, I would show everyone my babies... my two cats. They are the sweetest!
Here is Oscar. He is part Himalayan and part Burmese. He has the personality of a dog! He's so sweet and funny! :)

Benji, the family dog I had growing up wasn't such a good model.
He peed on the doll clothes I put him in.

The Cat and the Avocado
Does your cat get into anything? SassyBelleWares shared this funny story with me:
We have a polydactyl cat aka Hemmingway cat named Millie that has 7 toes on her front paws & 5 on her back paws. She steals things...ceramic tiles, buttons, etc. that I am using for my shop items. once she gets them I never see them again. I cannot figure out where her hiding spot is. One day she took my wedding rings off the counter but I heard her playing with them before she hid them.
I think the funniest so far was the day I heard a thud coming from the kitchen. I couldn't figure out what was on the counter that would have made that noise. I went to investigate & she had pushed an avocado off the counter and was playing with it as if it was a kitty toy. She is loads of fun.

Show and Tell
Sometimes, our pets can bring us home some gifts. She'sAllThat shared this great story with me:
I had a dead gopher as a pet and took it to show and tell in the 1st grade! My dog caught it in our yard so I took it and made it a little bed in my room. My parents found out when the teacher called them for a parent conference.
She'sAllThat also makes great jewelry and baby items, visit her shop at:

Nigel adopted a good family.
Have you ever had a pet come to your home and adopt you?
Merrellart shares her story:
Nigel came to our house one night. He told us he was cold and hungry and needed a home. He would be a good pet. And he was -- a bit dim but always ready to sit and purr.

Grace, the Human Trainer
Meet Grace. She's a full-time human trainer and it's not an easy job. People are stubborn, they have a tendency to get this silly idea that they're in charge. People don't seem to take the idea that the cat is boss very seriously. But, Grace is good.
She can get people to do a lot of things just by looking cute and sweetly pawing their leg. This gets her anything from turkey, to playtime to free transportation around the house on someone's shoulder. If she wants to go into the porch, just lay by the front door, presto, it opens. For a drink of water from the faucet, she just has to stick her head under it and a human will turn it on.
Once, when she was naughty and bitey, I carried her to the bedroom for a time out. I set her down on the soft bed and walked out. Before I could shut the door, the stinker had already run out of the room. Sighing, I carried her back into the room. Zoom! She was past the door before I could even run out. I was seriously beginning to wonder who was the smarter creature! Then I threw a lovely little glitter ball into the room. I was out of the room and had the door closed before she even realized what was happening. Little Gracie got her short time out that day. Whether she's the boss or not, I showed her that human ingenuity can pay off.
And glitter balls aren't the only way to get a cat to go where you want them to. Grace, in her boss mode, decided to intimidate my brother. She would block the doorway into the next room and try to act tough. But, he found a way around that. He can get her to move in any direction he wants her to go with the use of a handy little laser pointer. Since Grace chasing the laser light is so cute and funny, I had to attach a video of it, so everyone can enjoy this scene as much as I do.
NOTE: if you use a laser pointer, please take caution to keep the beam from shining in the cat's eyes.

Doggie Adventures
When I was growing up, we had a dog named Benji. He was a cute little white mutt, part pekinese, part poodle and part maltese. He was cute and looked innocent, but my parents should have known better. When they came to pick up their chosen puppy from the breeder, she warned them, "This puppy is part maltese. Do you still want him?" My parents thought this lady was just being ridiculous and readily agreed to take their adorable little blessing home. How much trouble could one little puppy get into anyway?
Then, the fun begins. One day, while my mom wasn't in the room, Benji found a new pasttime. He discovered the lovely green hanging plant my mom had spent many months growing. It was beautiful, the emerald green leaves cascaded from the plant, reaching elegantly towards the floor. To Benji though it was a many leafed playground. That brave dog jumped up high into the air like an olympic athlete valiantly grasping a branch in his mouth and ladding with a thump back on the dining room floor. Then he jumped again, tearing off branch after branch with his mouth. Finally, my mom came into the room, shocked to see her beautiful plant reduced to a tattered heap on the linoleum floor.
"BENJI!"
He knew he was in trouble but he had enjoyed himself and that's what's really important. After all, living joyously in the moment is what makes life worth living.
